Our Backpack Program provides backpacks full of supplemental nutritous, kid-friendly foods to children who are "food insecure" over the weekend. When a childn is "food insecure," he/she is at greater risk of going hungry. To combat this problem, many ares in Laramie donated food, funds and backpacks to the program. Inadequate or insufficient nutrition puts children at risk for poor phycial heal, poor cognitive and behavioral development, slow or unusual developmental risks and lagging in academic development. Many children in our community only ave one nutitional meal a day, a school lunch. A majority of the time it is the only they get during the day. We are lucky to have a program director in our congregation, Jeanette Pulley. This is the 4 year that we have provided food and donations to this program. If you would like to help or donate contact to church office at (307) 745-4106.
